Remember
that road trip you’ve always talked about, but never got around to?
That’s what Arlon Hunt and I decided to do when the CDC warned
against travel to China just as we were ready to get on the plane.
From San Francisco Bay, we started down the coast on highway 101,
with only a general idea of where we’d like to go.
With so much spectacular scenery, good restaurants and many photo
ops for our digital cameras, we got no farther than Monterey the first
day.
One
of the stops was at Aňo
Nuevo State Park where we hiked to the beach to look down at a crowd of
elephant seals basking in the sun like so many human sun worshipers.
