At
Page, AZ, we noted that the Glen Canyon Dam is well guarded from
terrorists. A police car
sits across from the approach to the dam, while access to the dam itself
is protected with fences, guardhouses and concertina razor wire.
The formations cut by
the Paria River in Bryce Canyon are of two distinct colors…red and
white. Each wore away a
little differently. I found
that at 8,000 feet above sea level, I couldn’t climb as fast or as
long as I expected without running out of breath.
I’d never make a mountain climber.
