Lake in the Ozarks-August '99

The last three days in August, Donna and Jeffrey, Karen, Caitlin and Jeffrey Jr. visited Donna's cousin Barbara Keck and her husband Joe at their cottage on Lake of the Ozarks.  The food was great and the entertainment constant with rides on their power boat, pontoon boat and Jet Skis.   Jeffrey Jr. and Caitlin went down the water slide on their floating dock at least 100 times and still had time left to catch fish.  The trip included a three hundred foot climb to see an abandoned castle, followed by a prolonged swim in a cool part of the lake fed by underground springs.  Very refreshing!

After Christmas '98, Donna went to California for the New Year with her sisters, Betty & Ron Haxton and Judith and Bill Leonard.  The trip involved a lot of eating and shopping.  Betty and Ron cooked a big dinner one night.  We warned Judith that we wanted an early start for our shopping trip and told her to be on the curb with her purse in hand.

  In October 1998, Jennifer, Susan & Donna decided to decompress at the Kripalu Yoga Retreat Center in the beautiful Berkshire mountains in western Massachusetts.  It was a restful weekend of yoga sessions, hikes in the woods, meditation and a vegetarian diet.  (Susan's still not too sure about that diet!)
